7 Important Tips For Soloing Dungeo...

Is Warden A Good Class In ESO?

Wardens are a great class for Beginners and Advanced players alike in The Elder Scrolls Online. Wardens are ESO's defenders of nature that can summon animal companions as well as cast frost-based abilities that debuff the enemy or empower themselves or their group. The Warden’s strong healing and burst damage potential make it a great class if you are interested in PVP or even a bit of solo PVE.

The Warden has one dedicated class skill line for each of the traditional MMO play styles of Tanking, Healing and DPS, making it a very well balanced class that can fit into any role in ESO. Though keep in mind that the Warden's Jack Of All Trades skill set also means that it will generally not be the best at any one thing.

What Skills Are Best For The Warden?

The best Warden skill is Deep Fissure, which deals big AOE Burst Damage while also debuffing enemies with Minor and Major Breach.

Wardens in The Elder Scrolls Online specialize in Animal Companions. Among these skills, Bird Of Prey is excellent for increasing Speed and raw Damage while Blue Betty and Bull Netch increase your Magicka and Stamina recovery respectively while also providing Major Brutality and Major Sorcery.

Warden Tanks will want to make consistent use of skills like Ice Fortress for the extra resistances and Gripping Shards for the crowd control.

Warden Healers have several great healing options in their toolkit including Living Trellis and Bursting Vines.

PVP-focused Wardens will want to make use of powerful defensive tools like Shimmering Shield.

The best Warden Ultimate is Northern Storm which does massive AOE frost damage while also granting Major Protection and increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage.

For more information on Warden Skills explore the Warden Class Skill Line Guides below.

What Weapons Are Best For The Warden?

The best weapon for Wardens currently in The Elder Scrolls Online is a Frost Staff. This weapon will compliment the frost magic abilities of the Warden extremely well and some of these skills even do bonus damage with a Frost Staff equipped!

For a melee or Stamina focused Warden a great option for your Primary Weapon will be either Dual Wield or Two-Handed. Both weapons do great damage while also offering powerful Damage Over Time (DOT) effects and some utility.

What Armor Should a Warden Wear?

The best armor for the Warden class in The Elder Scrolls Online is light armor, which provides bonuses to Critical Chance, Offensive Penetration, Magicka Recovery and Magicka Cost Reduction.

There are some exceptions to this rule, particularly if you prefer melee weapons and stamina-based skills. In this case you will want to prioritize medium armor instead which boosts your Critical Damage, Stamina Recovery and Stamina Cost Reduction.

Tanks as well as players interested in PVP will also want to invest in some solid Heavy Armor sets for the extra protection.

What Is The Best Race For Warden?

The best race for a Warden in The Elder Scrolls Online is Dark Elf due to their bonus Max Magicka and Max Stamina and increased Weapon and Spell Damage which provides better damage and sustain for all resource types.

It is important to note that sometimes other races can be preferred depending on what particular build you are trying to optimize for. For more details be sure to review our ESO Race Guides for each role.
