Stamina Dragonknight Solo PVE One Bar Build

by Hack The Minotaur

The MAULER Build is an absolute BEAST! As a Stamina DK, we have many hard hitting abilities, as well as natural buffs to our HEAVY ATTACK damage. So if you want a heavy-hitting, tough as nails warrior type character, look no further! This guide contains details for a ONE BAR and TWO BAR version of the build.

Primary Sets

The main sets on the Mauler Build revolve around buffing your Heavy Attack damage as much as possible and increasing out DOT potential.

Our first set specifically for heavy attacks is Noble Duelist. This set is part of the base game and adds a powerful Heavy Attack buff that is easy to maintain.

The second set, Pillar Of Nirn is an amazing proc set that offers very high damage with an easy to maintain proc condition and fairly long duration. This will do a great job increasing our overall DPS in between Heavy Attacks.

The Oakensoul Ring is the new go to Mythic Item that packs a punch for one bar builds. delivering many powerful Major and Minor buffs.

Finally, a one piece Monster Set is perfect for adding some extra stats to this build. My favorite option is Slimcraw for the additional Critical Chance

Alternative Sets

Noble Duelist can be replaced with other Heavy Attack buff sets like Sergeant’s Mail. More options can be found in our Best Heavy Attack Sets guide. A more defensive option worth considering for solo content is the set Hexos Ward. Finally if you want to play with two full skill bars I recommend using Sea-Serpent’s Coil as the Mythic.

Sergeant’s Mail

(3 items) Adds 129 Health Recovery
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage

Hexos Ward

Set bonus
(2 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(3 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(4 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(5 items) Dealing direct Critical Damage grants you a damage shield that absorbs up to 12305 damage for 6 seconds. This effect can occur once every 7 seconds.

Sea-Serpent’s Coil

Set bonus
(1 item) While at full Health, you gain 40% damage resistance. After taking damage while at full Health in combat, you gain Serpent’s Rebuke for 10 seconds, snaring yourself by 40% and gaining Major Berserk and Major Courage, increasing your damage done by 10% and Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.

The damage resistance does not apply while Serpent’s Rebuke is active.

Skills Discussion & Rotation

One Bar Rotation

Noxious Breath -> Burning Embers -> Flames Of Oblivion -> Carve x3 -> Eruption -> Heavy Attack x3

Keep up your DOTS and refresh them when they expire. Carve must be cast early to maintain stacks.

Cast Ultimate on cool-down.

Two Bar Rotation

Buff with Volatile Armor and Molten Armaments. Then use Stampede, Carve x3, Barbed Trap -> Bar Swap

On the front bar: apply Noxious Breath -> Burning Embers -> Flames Of Oblivion -> Heavy Attack x3

Cast Ultimate on cool-down.

Companions

If you like playing Solo, this build can benefit greatly from using Companions! This Solo build will benefit the most from the additional healing and buff options a healer focused Companion can offer, so if you are going to use a Companion I would suggest a full healer build for them. I recommend Mirri Elendis for Companion on this build with the set up below. More information on Companions Builds and Skills can be found in our detailed Companion Guides section.
