Magicka Sorcerer Solo PVE ONE BAR Pet Build

by Hack The Minotaur

Looking for a Solo Magicka Sorcerer Build with nearly INFINITE Sustain, Massive Shields and Health Recovery? Look no further!! This build specializes in SURVIVAL and is so simple it can be run as a ONE BAR Build without needing a HEAL!! Of course, you can use two Full Skill Bars for even more utility and DAMAGE. This build is a fantastic option for anyone looking to pick up the Magicka Sorcerer Class in The Elder Scrolls Online Blackwood Chapter and beyond!

Primary Sets

Our main damage set on this build is Spinner’s Garments, which increases our Spell Penetration, making all of our abilities hit harder, including the damage for our monster set.

Permafrost is a very interesting defensive set which increases our health recovery by a massive amount while we have a damage shield skill active. This fits the Magicka Sorcerer very well because we have the strongest damage shield in the game (Hardened Ward), and also have a passive boost to our health recovery through the Sorcerer class passives.

With the introduction of the Blackwood Chapter, a very strong Defensive Mythic item has been added to the game called Gaze Of Sithis. The extra armor, health and health recovery perfectly fit the theme of this build and make it even stronger! I definitely recommend picking this up if possible. Alternatives will be listed further below including the typical Monster Set focused build instead if you do not have access to this Mythic yet.

If using a Mythic, a one piece Monster set will be a great option to fill your final armor slot. I prefer Slimecraw for the bonus Critical Chance.

Finally, this build can make use of the Crushing Wall set (Maelstrom Arena Destruction Staff) for even more Heavy Attack damage.

Spinner’s Garments

(1 item) Adds 1025 Health Recovery

Set bonus
(1 item) Adds 771 Critical Chance

Crushing Wall

Set bonus
(2 items) Your Light and Heavy Attacks deal an additional 1353 damage to enemies in your Wall of Elements.

Alternative Sets

For alternatives, Spinner’s Garments can be replaced with other damage-oriented sets like New Moon Acolyte. Permafrost can be replaced with any other Health Recovery set such as Beekeeper’s Gear.

If you do not have the Gaze Of Sithis Mythic item yet, then you may use several Monster Sets successfully instead.

Infernal Guardian launches fire balls at an enemy when we cast a damage shield as well - meaning that on this build your shields not only protect you, but also do damage! You may also consider a more defensive set like Iceheart or Mother Ciannait.

Beekeeper’s Gear

Set bonus

(2 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(3 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(4 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(5 items) Adds 900 Health Recovery

Mother Ciannait

Set bonus

(1 item) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(2 items) While in combat, casting an ability with a cast time or channeling an ability grants you a damage shield that absorbs 5000 damage for 6 seconds. If the damage shield is broken, you restore 822 Magicka. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds.

Infernal Guardian

Set bonus
(1 item) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(2 items) When you apply a damage shield to yourself or an ally, you have a 50% chance to lob 3 mortars over 2 seconds at the furthest enemy from you that each deal 4430 Flame Damage to all enemies within 5 meters of the blast area. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds.

Food/Drink Buff

Bewitched Sugar Skulls

Skills Discussion & Rotation

One Bar Rotation

Buff with your potion. Next, cast Unstable Wall, Volatile Familiar and Lightning Flood together, then Heavy Attack 3-4 times in a row. If you are taking damage just remember to cast Hardened Ward to protect yourself and heal at the same time.

Two Bar Rotation

Buff with your potion and then Critical Surge and Boundless Storm. Then cast Lightning Flood, Volatile Familiar and Unstable Wall -> Bar Swap. Next, cast Elemental Drain followed by 3 Heavy Attacks. Use Hardened Ward as needed for healing and defense.

Companions

This Solo Build can benefit greatly from using Companions which are releasing with the Blackwood Chapter in 2021. While any Companion set up can be helpful, a Companion that can buff our heavy attacks as well as provide additional shielding will be best for this build. I recommend Bastian Hallix for Companion on this build with the set up below.

Recommended Gear

  • All Medium Armor - Quickened Trait

  • Restoration Staff
